Vivian Maier, a nanny working in Chicago for many years, could turn out to be one of the most profound street photographer’s of the 20th Century. She took thousand of photos during her life but never shared them with anyone and they have only recently been discovered. The photographs are being scanned and cataloged which is a time consuming process as they were taken before digital cameras were common place. The first American exhibit of Vivian’s work will be on display starting January 7th at the Chicago Cultural Center.
