If I could vote for a Police Officer to win the Officer of the Year Award then North Dakota State Trooper Megan Christopher would have my vote for how she and her fellow law enforcement officers handled an extremely dangerous situation. When Army Veteran Brock Savelkoul tried to attempt “Suicide By Cop” they could have easily shot him but instead exercised amazing restraint and displayed the utmost of compassion and professionalism in how they dealt with the situation. There are so many examples of Police Brutality and Negativity towards law enforcement officers I am happy to share a positive story.
Many Veterans like Brock are casualties of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and suffer both mental and physical injuries as a result of multiple combat tours.
