Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is one of my favorite free malware (malicious software) scanners. The Free version doesn’t offer real time protection so I use it as an on demand scanner when I want to run a check for malware on my computer. If you don’t have an AntiVirus product currently installed on your computer that offers Real Time Protection I strongly advise you to install one. I prefer either Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials and both can be found on my Free Virus Protection page.
Malwarebytes is updated several times each day giving you the best chance to find and remove malware from your computer. I encourage you to run a scan at least once a week even if you think your AntiVirus software is doing its job…you might be surprised by the results.
Automatic updates are another feature that’s only available in the paid version so make sure to run an update check in the free version before scanning your PC. A quick scan takes less than 10 minutes on most computers and a full scan will take longer depending on how may files you have and how fast your computer is.
