Kate Smith introduces and sings God Bless America. This patriotic song was originally written by Irving Berlin during World War One in 1918 but was never used by him. Twenty years later in 1938, he gave the song to Kate Smith to use on her radio show. This clip is Kate introducing and singing the song on Armistice Day that has since become such a hit.
