Just when I thought things might be getting better for honey bees I learn that there’s such a thing as The Zombie Fly. This is like a bee horror film except instead of the bees attacking humans they are being attacked by the Zombie Fly and turned into Zombees. Once the parasitoid Zombie Fly infects the honey bee it leads to a painful death as the bee is eaten alive from the inside out. That’s a horrific way to go for any creature. Hopefully the Zombie Fly problem will stay contained to the West Coast and not infect bee hives everywhere.
