When dogs discover snow for the first time it can be a fun and exciting experience for both the dog and their owner. Snow is soft and fluffy and fun to play in even if it is a little cold. When dogs discover ice though it can be a much less pleasant experience. Much like humans, dogs weren’t meant to walk on sheets of ice so they will slip and slide just like us. Please be very careful with your dogs around any frozen ponds, lakes, or rivers as they can fall through the ice just like us.
