Construction Meets Art

Amazing drywall art sculpture from Bernie Mitchell who has perfected his art since starting out as a drywall finisher in the 1990s. He initially used wheat and barley stalks to leave impressions on the drywall. As you can see, he has mastered the art form of sculpting drywall into beautiful works of art. He starts out with a wall with a couple of coats of primer. Mitchell does not have a set recipe but customizes a mix of drywall mud and a dry setting compound. He uses standard drywall knives along with a regular tablespoon and even a crumpled-up plastic bag for texture.
