When I first heard the Kawah Ijen volcano referred to as the blue volcano I thought it was a description of the water in the crater but it turns out it wasn’t. Located in Java, Indonesia the volcano emits bright blue flames that are due to sulfuric gases mixing with oxygen. The next time you are complaining about your job consider these sulfur miners who perform their difficult and dangerous job on the volcano.
