Centralia, Pennsylvania has turned into a ghost town due to an underground coal fire that started in 1962. Turning an old strip mine into the town dump probably seemed like a good idea at the time but in hindsight, it destroyed the town. The town was officially condemned in 1992 and many residents were forced to move somewhere else. The road leading into the abandoned town has been covered in graffiti and is known as the “Graffiti Highway”.
