Keely Chalmers with KGW Channel 8 News in Portland shares an interesting look at wildfires burning underground in Oregon. Volunteer firefighter Don Tesdal was doing fire mop up when he came across a serious problem many people might not be aware of. While there might be a little smoke above ground there can be a very hot fire below ground that is killing the root systems of trees. These trees will present a hazard to any homes or people in their vicinity.
