There Are Heroes Among Us, take the time to hear their stories before they are gone. In 2019, WWII Veteran Danny Francisco flew in a B-17 again after 75 years. Danny completed 50 missions as a B-17 tail-gunner during 1944-1945 when he was 18 years old. His plane was named ‘The Silver Dollar’ and was based out of Foggia, Italy during the war. Danny passed away at the age of 96 and was followed shortly by his wife Helen. They’re buried in South Lake Tahoe at the Happy Homestead Cemetery.
