U.S. Air Force Operation Christmas Drop is conducted by the 36th Wing at Andersen Air Force Base to enhance community support in underserved areas while training aircrews in low-level airdrop techniques over vast ocean expanses. Operation Christmas Drop is the world’s longest-running humanitarian airlift mission since 1952. C-130 Hercules aircraft deliver supplies, toys, and holiday goods via parachute airdrops to remote Pacific islands such as Micronesia, Guam, and the Marshall Islands.
