Chief Warrant Officer Five Karl H. Maier was recently inducted into the Army Aviation Association of America Hall of Fame and it’s easy to see why when you learn about his career. Most of CWO5 Maier’s time in the Army was spent as a member of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), known as Night Stalkers. He was involved in every combat operation since 1987 including being a member of Task Force Ranger in Somalia in 1993. If you have seen the movie “Blackhawk Down” you are already familiar with his actions during that battle. To see the story of another great Army Aviator watch this video about Army Dustoff Pilot Michael Novosel.
