Sally Mann is considered one of the most influential photographers of her time and has recently focused her work on her husband Larry. They have been married for 40 years and about 15 years ago Larry was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Sally has photographed him for a project called “Proud Flesh.” The technique she uses to create these photos is very old and I found it to be somewhat haunting and riveting as the photos look aged but they are actually recent.
