His dad, Marine LCPL Carpenter, made the ultimate sacrifice while serving with 3/8 in Afghanistan in 2011, a month before Landon was born. Being a former Marine and a father this photo really touched me. Less than 1% of the American population serves in the military and the sacrifices and hardships they and their families go through should never be taken for granted.
