Andy Griffith tells his Football Story from 1953 called “What It Was Was Football”. This is the comic monologue that helped to launched Andy’s career as it got him on the Ed Sullivan Show. He describes the football game as something “where you try to run across a cow pasture without getting hit or stepping in something.” The illustrations used in this video were drawn by George Woodbridge, a Mad Magazine artist and appeared in Mad Magazine in 1958.
