Charles Durning, a famous actor and a veteran of D-Day, shares his experience of landing on the beach in Normandy. He landed on Omaha Beach and like many other veterans went through so much pain and anguish on June 6, 1944, as he fought to survive the beach assault. He was awarded a Silver Star and three Purple Hearts during World War Two. This talk was given at the National Memorial Day Concert in 2007 from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
