NBC News shares with us a look at legendary singer Aretha Franklin who was known as “The Queen Of Soul”. I never realized that Aretha’s hit song Respect was originally written by Ottis Redding but I learned that today when watching the news about Aretha’s career. She took that song and added some words to make it her own which turned out to be a good idea because it became a blockbuster hit and an anthem for the Civil Right Movement. RIP Aretha.
