Livestock Guardian Dog

An interesting look at how a small farmer in Vermont trained his dog Toby to be a livestock guardian dog for the geese and ducks he raises on the farm. Before training began he had to select which breed of dog would be best for his farm and climate and what breeder to buy the dog from. Toby is a Maremma Sheepdog and he has a wonderful life on Gold Star Farm helping to protect the geese and ducks from wild animals. Toby is a working dog so getting him from a breeder made sense but if you are looking for a house dog please adopt and don’t shop.
