Mark Mariano is a Waterfowl Protection Specialist whose job is to keep migrating species from landing on the toxic Berkeley Pit. If the birds stay on the polluted water for more than a few hours, they get cooked from the inside out. Mark and other mine workers us a variety of tools including a rifle, drones, and lasers to scare the birds away.
