The Meaning Of SISU

An interesting look at conscripts of the Finnish Army’s Jaeger Brigade who share their thoughts on the tough winter training. Sisu is a special word in Finnish culture and for most it means determination and composure in the face of adversity. Finland relies on a conscription-based military system, requiring all men aged 18 to 28 to complete military training and then perform annual service until they are 60 years old.
