Captain Yellin and his 19-year-old wingman Philip Schlamberg flew the very last combat mission of World War Two on the day Japan surrendered. Captain Yellin passed away in 2017 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetary. The story he shares reminded me of German Pilot Meets American Pilot.
