Mechanical Engineers at BYU are working to create a folding Kevlar shield for use by law enforcement agencies. The researchers at Brigham Young University have created an Origami design for a Kevlar shield that is capable of stopping bullets from a handgun. I realize all the armchair experts out there will be critical of this saying it doesn’t stop high-powered rifle rounds or RPG’s but when someone is shooting at you some cover is better than no cover at all. I hope they continue their work and improve the shield.
